We’re heading in the right direction with Marie

We’re delighted to welcome Marie Roe to the team as our new Director of Strategy and Change.

Marie brings with her a wealth of skills and experience to support the newly merged organisation in achieving its ambitious business plans and change agenda.

Marie joins from The Gateshead Housing Company, where she held the position of Executive Director of Business and Development, with responsibility for business services and strategy. She also played significant leading roles in the establishment of County Durham Housing Group in 2015 and Dale & Valley Homes in 2006.

Marie is relishing the opportunity of working alongside the Executive to help define the new organisation from the start.

“Opportunities to join such a forward thinking new company from its very beginning don’t come along very often,” she explained, “Drawing upon my career experiences so far, which have required me to work through periods of often unprecedented change, I look forward to working with colleagues to help deliver Beyond Housing’s bold ambition.”

Marie is clear that her initial focus is on helping the business become fully integrated.

“I see us completing some key changes related to the integration and then working on the next 3-5-year plan, which will include focusing on our ambitions to increase the number of homes we provide while further supporting the communities and neighbourhoods that we serve in Redcar & Cleveland and Scarborough.”

Marie’s views on the management of change are clear. “Focus on engaging and empowering people to be involved in the process. If they help shape the change through their own ideas and input, they are then better placed to deliver the actual change itself.”
