Christmas dinner without breaking the bank
Is it possible to enjoy a great family Christmas lunch without breaking the bank?
We still believe that despite today’s rising prices, it’s possible for a family of five to tuck in to a three course Christmas lunch, without compromising on quality or flavour, for around £20. And what’s more we’re going to prove it!
Beyond Housing has worked with local lifestyle blogger Amy Kelly to produce a series of three short videos, giving a step by step guide to delivering a super value Christmas lunch for much less than a family would usually expect to spend.
A Beyond Housing customer for 17 years, Amy has seen her website and Facebook page grow consistently in popularity and attract the attention of a number of media outlets, including the Daily Mail, Daily Mirror and Daily Star along with BBC Radio 5 Live, Radio London, Radio Tees and BBC Breakfast TV.
As a working mum herself Amy fully understands the pressures placed on families living on benefits or low incomes. Her philosophy is to ‘live life to the full but pay as little as possible to do so’. She has become expert in creating mouth-watering meals on a budget while also thinking up a world of inspiring and exciting activities for her children that don’t cost the earth.
Amy said: “By creating these videos with Beyond Housing I think we can put our message out to a wider audience, while also helping our existing customers and followers to enjoy Christmas without breaking the bank. I’m looking forward to showing how we can all wow our families and Christmas guests, without putting ourselves out of pocket.”
Joanne Dunn, Beyond Housing’s Head of Income Management & Employability added: “This is an excellent opportunity for Beyond Housing to bring some great money saving tips within reach of local families during the most expensive time of year, and what better way to do it than in partnership with one of our own very talented customers!”
