High hopes for Whitby in Bloom

Residents at Beyond Housing’s Marton Court sheltered housing community in Whitby have high hopes for success in this year’s Whitby and Britain in Bloom competitions. Some of their gardens have even been picked out by the Royal Horticultural Society as suitable for photographing to help promote the start of the national Britain in Bloom judging fortnight!

Jacqui Parkin, Beyond Housing Senior Coastcall Responder, said, “Our Marton Court residents always take a great deal of pride in their gardens which, at this time of year, can really be seen at their best. The competition judging has become quite a social event, enjoyed by all our residents, and they always look forward to it and prepare their gardens with a good deal of hard work and  great enthusiasm”.
