At Beyond Housing, we’re committed to supporting our customers and partners to make where they live places that inspire, excite and positively transform people’s lives, giving residents the tools and support they need to feel empowered to make this happen.

As part of this initiative, colleagues nominated community groups across our geographical footprint to gift a £500 donation as we celebrated our first birthday this October.

Our involved customers then reviewed over 50 nominations from colleagues and chose the final 10 to receive their share of £5,000. Winners were Streetz, Backstreet Theatre Group, Community Stepping Stones CIC, Crafts4All, Hun-free Hunmanby Community Fridge, Sidewalk Youth Project, Whitby Disability Action Group (DAG), Friends of Westfield Farm, Scarborough Community Furniture Store and Scarborough Frame Football.

Tracy O’Neill, Executive Director of Customers and Communities at Beyond Housing said: “Fantastic work is already being done in our communities, by our communities, which we want to support to continue.

“We’ve had some lovely feedback from groups who’ve been awarded the money about what a difference it will make. We’re looking forward to checking in with them in months to come to see the impact the donation has had on our communities.”
