Multi-Skilled Operatives - Redcar & Scarborough

Calling all Multi-Skilled Operatives!  Are you looking for a new opportunity to make your mark! 

We are looking for four Multi-Skilled Operatives to join our Damp & Mould Team. We're on the look out for individuals who will fit right in.

As a Multi-Skilled Operative, your responsibilities will also include tasks such as brickwork, plastering, joinery and plumbing you'll also be involved and have an understanding of:

  • Conducting property surveys to identify building defects, causes of damp and mould issues, while actively addressing and resolving these concerns initially 
  • Understanding the reasons for damp in properties and explaining ventilation and condensation to customers
  • Safely removing mould and contaminated materials
  • A grasp of the knowledge and understanding of how a building should function 
  • Familiarity with U values and the significance of minimising heat loss 
  • Solid understanding of DPC (damp proof course) and DPM (damp proof membrane) in older properties 
  • Providing precise reports of findings and recommendations within a building. 

Being a good team player and having strong communication skills are also essential as the role requires collaborative work with other departments

What we'd like from you

  • Experience in most aspects of repairs and maintenance 
  • Competent with damp and mould removal
  • Knowledge and understanding of moisture meters and recordings
  • Skilled in sealing and repairing flooring, leak detection and water restoration.
  • A solid understanding of subfloor condensation and the diagnosis of rising damp 
  • Understanding condensation issues and the ability to effectively resolve them.

Please note the salary for this role does not yet include our April 2023 pay award as we are currently in negotiations with our trade unions. The displayed salary incorporates the ‘multi-skilling’ and tool allowance included in the total.
