If you want to make a major change to your home, you’ll need our consent to do so before you begin the work. The best way to do this is to put your permission request in writing – Beyond Housing will not be unreasonably refuse any requests to make alterations or improvement to your home.
That said, permission will be refused where the proposed improvement or alteration will:
Affect the structure of the building for which Beyond Housing is responsible for, and therefore Beyond Housing future maintenance liabilities
Involve changes to rights of way or communal areas of the building or surrounding land
Be likely to reduce the value of the building in any way.
Planning permission or building consent should also be approved before any works commence, if required.
