Meet John Williams
John’s expertise was gained within the banking industry, most recently in the role of Relationship Director and Head of Lloyds Bank’s North Region Education, Community and Government team where he held particular responsibility for social housing, charities, further and higher education, NHS foundation trusts, NDPBs and local authorities. He has been actively involved in the funding and banking requirements of housing associations and has supported the successful completion of several stock transfers across the North of England.
These relationships have contributed to John’s interest in how good quality housing and education can improve people’s lives and has helped shape his continuing involvement in these sectors.
He is currently a trustee of an almshouse and educational charity in Hull, a governor and chair designate at Bradford College, and a northern committee member for the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
John was born in Yorkshire and has lived and worked throughout the county. In his spare time, he is involved in motorsport as an organiser and official and is also a keen walker, particularly in the North Yorkshire moors countryside where he currently lives.
John joined the organisation on September 2019 and is the chair of the audit and risk committee.
