Shared Ownership Repairs and Maintenance Claims
Depending on when your lease commenced, some shared owners can claim up to a maximum of £500 in repairs and maintenance costs each year to support with the repair or replacement of (if faulty and not covered by warranty):
- Installations in the flat or house for making use of the supply of water, gas and electricity and for sanitation (including basins, sinks, baths and sanitary conveniences, but not other fixtures, fittings and appliances for making use of the supply of water, gas or electricity), pipes and drainage
- Installations in the flat or house for space heating and heating water.
You must tell us that the repairs are needed and we will decide if they are essential. Beyond Housing has the right to inspect your home when making a decision.
You’ll need to arrange the repairs yourself and claim a repairs allowance to cover the cost. You can claim up to a certain amount a year (usually £500) and you will need to pay for costs above this amount yourself.
You must use a Trustmark-approved tradesperson or professional approved by Beyond Housing. You can find a local tradesperson on the Trustmark website.
