Social value dishwasher donation for our customers in Scarborough

Thursday 3 April 2025

A social value donation of a new dishwasher, by our valued partner BES Group, has come as a welcome boost for a group of sheltered housing residents.

Residents at Glaves Close Community Centre, part of our sheltered housing complex for older customers in East Ayton, have created an active group for the local community to enjoy, delivering activities such as weekly breakfast sessions, afternoon teatime, and bingo events.

The group provides funding for all its own food, and has also supplied some kitchen equipment, but recently found itself in dire need of a new dishwasher.

Happily, our partner organisation BES Group stepped up with a shiny new dishwasher, and thanks to this thoughtful gift, our residents can continue running their breakfast sessions and social activities.

Laura Young, Community Partnership & Engagement Manager at Beyond Housing, said: We would like to thank BES Group for this generous donation of a new dishwasher. This partnership, established through our sub-contractor social value work, has enabled us to support the Glaves Close residents with their weekly food and social activities which help maintain the community’s health and well-being.

Danielle Cross, Commercial Manager of BES Group, said: On behalf of BES Group, we’re delighted to support the community centre by providing a dishwasher. We believe that giving back to the community is essential, and we’re proud to contribute to making everyday tasks a little easier for everyone involved. Its our pleasure to be part of such a great initiative with Beyond Housing.
