Supporting Barrowcliff School outdoor project
Thursday 23 September 2021
Our colleagues have volunteered their time and skills to support a local school’s dream of creating a valuable outdoor learning area.
Barrowcliff School’s learning pond had fallen into disrepair and become unsafe for children to use as an asset to support their classroom learning.
Our colleagues took on the painting of fencing and benches to protect and add colour to the site, while partners and valued sub-contractors Ingleford Scaffolding Ltd created a new jetty, walkway and planter space to provide a perfect facility for outdoor learning.
Barrowcliff School Business Manager Michelle Appleby said: “We’re very grateful for Beyond Housing and Ingleford Scaffolding’s support with this ambitious project. We can’t wait for the pupils to start using the space now. The children of Barrowcliff School will benefit from being able to take part in practical activities linked to their classroom lessons, which will enhance their overall learning experience.”
Laura Young, Beyond Housing Community Connector, added: “This was a wonderful opportunity for our team and Ingleford Scaffolding to underline their commitment to providing social value within their contractual partnership. We hope that the children at Barrowcliff school will enjoy their new learning pond for years to come.”
