We’ve made it into the top 100 most inclusive places to work

Thursday 8 February 2024

We’re thrilled to have been placed in the UK’s top 100 most inclusive places to work.

The FREDIE Awards, compiled by the National Centre for Diversity, recognise organisations for their commitment to diversity and inclusion. This year we have been named as the 62nd most inclusive organisation in the country – an improvement on our position of 73 last year.

The top 100 recognition comes at a time when we have retained our accreditation as an Investor in Diversity, following an assessment carried out by the National Centre for Diversity.

After first being awarded the Investors in Diversity accreditation in 2022, we have implemented an action plan to further improve and implement behaviours outlined in the National Centre for Diversity’s FREDIE model; fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement. At our re-accreditation for 2023-2024, assessors commented: “Overall, Beyond Housing has demonstrated sufficient improvement to be re-accredited as an Investor in Diversity and it is now recommended that the organisation aspire to the higher level of Leaders in Diversity at their next accreditation.”

After a thorough assessment, the National Centre for Diversity found that 96.8% of employees felt that equality, diversity, and inclusion were being considered a part of any planning at the organisation. This was backed up with one employee commenting: “I have been part of a lot of initiatives to drive EDI over the last couple of years so have seen the marked improvements firsthand.”

Also highlighted in the assessor’s report were our improvements to the recruitment process, the recent introduction of EDI Allies across the organisation, and our participation in Scarborough Pride – seen by many as a very visible example of our commitment to EDI. It was also noted that we had made major improvements in how we support disability in the workplace.

Catherine Clennett, Director of People at Beyond Housing, said: “We are extremely proud to retain our accreditation and improve our spot in the top 100 most inclusive employers this year.

“Beyond Housing is dedicated to fostering a work environment where everyone feels valued and respected, and this recognition reflects our ongoing efforts. We’re committed to build on this momentum and achieve Leaders in Diversity accreditation in the future, ensuring Beyond Housing remains a vibrant and inclusive space for all.”
