An aerial view of progress at Hummersea Hills
Friday 26 February 2021
Site works are progressing well at our Hummersea Hills development in Loftus, which will see us deliver 128 new homes once complete.
Working with Esh Construction, we began work on the scheme in 2020 and are expecting the phase 1 handover by September 2021. Phase 1 includes apartments and houses available for supported living through our Redcare partnership with Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, which provides bespoke homes with care and support for older and vulnerable people across Redcar & Cleveland.
Supported living will be available at 43 of the 128 homes under construction, including nine apartments, 10 houses and 24 bungalows. Care and support services will be provided from a support hub within the development, which will also be part of the phase 1 handover. To be eligible for one of these homes, applicants must:
- Live in the Redcar & Cleveland area
- Have an assessed care need
- Be referred by social care.
All applications are handled by the Adult Access Team at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, who will undertake a care and support assessment to determine eligibility for each applicant. To find out more, get in touch with the Adult Access Team on 01642 065070 or email AccessAdultsTeam@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk.
The additional 85 homes include two, three and four bedroom houses available for affordable rent or purchase through rent to buy, an affordable home ownership scheme which allows customers to initially rent and purchase later. The handovers of these homes are expected to begin in winter 2021.
More information on how you can secure a home for rent or rent to buy will be available soon! In the meantime, take a look at the video below for a fantastic aerial view of how the works are coming along.
