Case study - Annie's progression through the apprenticeship programme

Annie began her career at Beyond Housing in September 2021, as a Business Administration Apprentice within the Reach & Respond team. The apprenticeship provided a strong foundation in administrative processes and introduced her to working in a professional environment.

Following the successful completion of her Business Administration apprenticeship, Annie transitioned into the Marketing and Communications team to undertake a Level 3 Digital Marketing apprenticeship. This opportunity allowed Annie to develop specialist knowledge and practical skills in a new area, building upon the existing experience from her previous apprenticeship.

Upon completion of Level 3, Annie was given the opportunity to progress further onto the Level 4 Marketing Executive apprenticeship, which she is currently completing. This stage has enabled Annie to deepen her understanding of marketing strategy and take on greater responsibilities within the team.

In January 2026, alongside the apprenticeship studies, Annie secured a full-time position as a Digital Marketing Assistant within the Marketing and Communications team. This role reflects the progression that she worked so hard to develop throughout her apprenticeship journey.

Annie commented:Throughout each apprenticeship, I have been presented with new opportunities, challenges, and learning experiences. These have allowed me to:

  • Gain valuable hands-on knowledge within different areas of the organisation
  • Build confidence in my professional abilities
  • Develop a wide range of transferable and technical skills
  • Learn how to effectively balance full-time work alongside continued learning.

Each stage of my apprenticeship journey has been both rewarding and impactful, supporting my ongoing personal and professional development

My experience demonstrates how apprenticeships can provide a structured and supportive pathway for career progression. They have enabled me to grow within the organisation, expand my skill set, and achieve meaningful career milestones, culminating in a full-time role within my chosen field.”

Feedback from apprentices

“My apprenticeship has been a really positive experience so far. I’ve enjoyed applying what I’m learning in real workplace projects.” – Dylan Farrell

“I came into the Governance Officer Apprentice role very blind as I had just finished my A-Levels earlier in the year. I was looking for the next step, which ended up being Beyond Housing.

During my time here, I can already feel that I have developed not only in the governance field, but as a young adult too. The apprenticeship structure at Beyond Housing always has their apprentices at it’s heart. Sophie and Maria are there every step of the way and are available whenever you need them – this is essential as going into a workplace can be daunting at first.

I have loved learning new things but have also enjoyed meeting loads of new people from all walks of life, not only in the workplace but in my college seminars too. The seminars are amazing for discovering different techniques from other people in the same role as you, that you can implement in your work.

So far my apprenticeship journey here at Beyond Housing has been great and I am looking forward to the rest of my time here.”  Corey Hopwood
