Authorise a representative on your housing account

We understand that sometimes it helps to have a trusted person act on your behalf, for example, to report a repair, discuss a housing application, or make a complaint. We’re happy to allow a third party to be authorised on your account, and we have a simple, secure process to do this.

How to nominate a representative

  • Full name
  • Relationship to you
  • Date of birth
  • Contact information (telephone number and full address including postcode)
  • Password (set by you)
  • The level of authorisation to be given (see next tab).

How we verify a representative

When a representative contacts us on your behalf, we will complete a verification check. They must be able to confirm:

  • Full name of the representative
  • Relationship to the customer
  • Date of birth
  • Contact information (telephone number and full address including postcode)
  • Password.

The representative must confirm all of the above to prove their identity before we can proceed with the request.

If you want to change the level of authorisation, extend, or remove a representative before the 12-month period ends, please contact us and we will help you.

We recognise that a power of attorney is given to help customers with important decisions. If you have one, we will need a copy of this as legal proof to show which type it is, like a health and welfare lasting power of attorney or a property and financial affairs lasting power of attorney. Once received, authorisation to the account will be given.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a representative stay on my account?

A representative remains authorised for 12 months. You can remove or change their access at any time by contacting us.

Can a representative sign documents on my behalf?

Authorisation allows the representative to act on your account in the areas you’ve selected. For legally binding documents, we may require additional written consent or proof of authority — we will let you know if this is needed.

What if I don’t want them to have full access?

That’s ok. You can choose the level of authorisation that best suits your needs — for example, repairs and maintenance if you only want them to report and discuss repairs.

What happens if my representative forgets their details?

If your representative cannot confirm the required information during a verification check, we won’t be able to discuss your account with them. They will need to contact you so you can share this information with them, or you will need to contact us directly with your enquiry.

How do I change or remove a representative?
