Meet Anne Parker

Board Chair

Anne’s early HR career within the water industry was followed by 30 years in a consulting capacity with a range of public, private and not for profit organisations, including a number in the social housing sector. She worked with boards and senior teams, advising on organisation and leadership development alongside the facilitation of performance within complex partnerships. 

Anne was an executive director of a consulting company and, over the 13 years as a board member, she held Finance Director and Managing Director roles. She was also Chair of Governors at a primary school in North Tyneside which, during her leadership, was recognised nationally for its vision and strategy. 

Anne chaired the North East Institute of Directors Women on Board group and is Chair of the Women North East Connected steering group, striving to make our region the best place for women in work. She is also a mentor for The Girls’ Network.  

Anne became an independent non-executive director at Newcastle’s arm’s length management organisation, Your Homes Newcastle (YHN), from October 2019 until the business transferred back into the council at the end of June 2024. During this time, she chaired the Audit and Risk and Appointments Committees, was Vice Chair and then, in May 2023, became the Chair of the Group Board and a director of Abri, the commercial arm of YHN. 

In June 2023 Anne was appointed as Non-Executive Director of Prosper UK, a small not for profit consulting organisation offering procurement and new build expertise to a range of landlords and housing organisations. 

Beyond these commitments she loves her travel, lots of walking and exercise, cooking and learning Spanish.
