We’ve launched our Community Fund with grants of up to £1,000
Wednesday 29 July 2026
We’ve launched the latest round of our Community Fund, offering grants of up to £1,000 to support projects across the communities we serve.
The maximum grant available has doubled from £500, giving charities, voluntary organisations, community groups and residents’ associations greater support to deliver projects in Redcar, Scarborough, Whitby and surrounding areas.
For 2026/27, the fund will focus on projects that help to keep communities safe or strengthen relationships between people living in local neighbourhoods.
Eligible projects could include activities that help residents feel more connected to their neighbours, community safety initiatives, education and training, improvements to local neighbourhoods and activities that provide positive opportunities for young people.
The fund is open to charities, voluntary and community groups, residents’ associations and other not-for-profit organisations operating in areas served by Beyond Housing.
Last year, we awarded more than £10,000 to 21 projects across Redcar, Scarborough and Whitby. A total of 52 applications were received, seeking more than £25,000 in funding.
Applications were reviewed and scored by a panel of 15 Beyond Housing customers, helping to ensure that funding was directed towards projects reflecting the needs of local communities.
Recipients included Senses Wellbeing Centre, a not-for-profit community interest company delivering sensory activities for families of children with special educational needs and disabilities in Skelton.
Futureworks NY in Scarborough also received funding for its youth development work, including the purchase of dyslexia pens and other equipment to help remove barriers for learners.
Laura Young, Community Partnership and Engagement Manager at Beyond Housing, said:
“We are thrilled to see the return of our successfully established Community Fund for 2026, supporting Beyond Housing’s key objective to invest in our neighbourhoods to create great places to live and work. Our new theme provides us with a fresh opportunity for different types of projects to be rewarded along with a key theme that we appreciate is important to our customers.”
