Castle Ward Community Clean Up Success!

Beyond Housing was proud to team up with North Yorkshire Council, the Castle Ward Tenants and Residents Association, Keep Scarborough Tidy, and other local volunteers for a community clean-up event aimed at brightening up the neighbourhood.

Local Castle Ward residents were invited to dispose of unwanted items from their homes and gardens with the help of four large skips strategically placed in accessible locations across the area. All the skips were manned by volunteers, ready to lend a hand in making sure the waste was properly removed and disposed of. Local cafe Bakers n’ Brew joined the Rainbow Centre in providing free bacon sandwiches to the volunteers.

John Bateman, Housing Officer at Beyond Housing, said: “Beyond Housing work very closely with NYCC and have been collaborating with Cllr Janet Jefferson over cleaning up the Castle ward. It is great to work alongside colleagues from other services to provide a great environment for our communities to live. For Beyond Housing this event has been a huge success as it has cleared some hot spots for fly tipping, helped some of our customers and local residents and brought the community together”

A big thank you to everyone who came out to make our community cleaner, greener, and more vibrant!
