We’ve joined forces with 0800 Repair to make targeted homes in North Yorkshire and East Cleveland more energy efficient
Friday 23 October 2026
We’re working in partnership with 0800 Repair to deliver a range of energy efficiency improvements to over 500 homes across Scarborough, Whitby and East Cleveland, helping customers reduce their energy consumption to lower their household bills.
The programme, which is funded by Beyond Housing, will involve improvements tailored to individual properties following an initial energy efficiency retrofit survey.
Depending on the outcome of the surveys, work could include cavity wall and loft insulation, upgraded heating controls, improved ventilation, energy efficient lighting and thermostatic shower upgrades.
To introduce the programme, we are holding a series of local events at which customers can meet colleagues such as housing officers, project team members and technical specialists to learn more about the improvements, how they will benefit customers and how the work will be carried out.
Kelly Betts, Project Leader, Asset Sustainability at Beyond Housing, said:
“We know that making homes warmer, more comfortable and more energy efficient is important for our customers. This programme, delivered in partnership with 0800 Repair, is a positive step towards improving the energy performance of our homes while helping customers reduce their energy use and household bills.
As we continue to work towards our goal of achieving EPC C across our homes by 2030, this investment demonstrates Beyond Housing’s commitment to supporting customers, reducing carbon emissions and creating a more sustainable future.”
The programme builds on an established partnership between Beyond Housing and 0800 Repair, which is part of the PHS Home Solutions Group and has extensive experience in delivering energy efficiency improvements to homes across the country.
The programme will help Beyond Housing to ensure all homes are rated to EPC grade C to achieve Minimum Energy Efficiency Targets by 2030.
Lisa Coverdale, Head of Customer Experience at 0800 Repair, said:
“We’re pleased to be working with Beyond Housing on this programme, helping customers benefit from improvements that will make their homes warmer, more comfortable and more energy efficient. We’re particularly looking forward to meeting residents at the upcoming community events, where our team will be on hand to discuss the proposed works, explain the process and answer any questions.
“With extensive experience delivering energy efficiency improvements in homes across the UK, we understand the importance of providing clear communication and support throughout the customer journey. By working closely with Beyond Housing and their customers, we’re committed to ensuring the improvements deliver long-term benefits for residents and their homes.”
Customers whose homes are identified as potentially suitable for improvements will receive an initial survey, followed by a personal appointment with a dedicated customer experience advisor to explain the proposed work and answer any questions.
When the improvements have been agreed, customers will receive a schedule of works and information about what to expect, with ongoing support from the 0800 Repair team throughout the installation process.
The programme forms part of wider efforts to improve the energy performance of existing homes, reduce carbon emissions and support national energy efficiency targets.
