Our popular £1 theatre ticket scheme is back

Thursday 9 April 2026

Our £1 theatre ticket scheme is set to return for 2026, once again giving our customers the chance to enjoy a wide range of productions at Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre.

Following on from the 2025 season, which saw more than 200 customers benefitting from the scheme, this year’s programme features an extensive lineup of productions, ranging from family favourites like Puss in Boots to largescale musicals, classic dramas and accessible performances including BSLinterpreted, audiodescribed, captioned and dementiafriendly shows. The full schedule includes titles such as Murder For TwoYouth Arts Festival: A Night at the Movies, Woyzeck, Calendar Girls The Musical, Handbagged and The Trial of Romeo Oscar by Alan Ayckbourn.

As in recent years, the offer is available not only to Beyond Housing customers but also to customers of our Reach & Respond service, which provides support for elderly, vulnerable or socially isolated people across the region. Now a well‑established part of our commitment to promoting wellbeing, inclusion and cultural access, the initiative continues to strengthen its long-running partnership with the Stephen Joseph Theatre, enabling customers to enjoy high‑quality, live theatre at an inclusive, accessible price.

Laura Young, Community Partnership and Engagement Manager at Beyond Housing, said: “We are pleased to continue our successfully established partnership with the SJT, helping us to make performances more accessible and providing an opportunity for our customers to benefit from significant discounts when enjoying the theatre experience.”

Caroline Routh, Executive Director and Joint CEO at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, said: “It’s really important to us at the SJT that we make our shows as widely accessible as possible. We’re delighted to be partnering with Beyond Housing again to provide £1 tickets for another year.”

Customers can book discounted tickets by calling the theatre’s Box Office on 01723 370541 and quoting the code BEYOND26. Proof of Beyond Housing tenancy or Reach & Respond service will be required when collecting tickets.

Tickets are subject to availability; they are nontransferable and limited to four per household. Additional £1 tickets for nonresident friends or family are not included in the offer, though standardprice tickets remain available through the box office.
