Meet Stewart Hogg

Stewart has spent over 15 years supporting organisations to enhance their cyber security posture and solve real business problems using innovative technologies. He currently leads a cyber division within a North East IT consultancy and is a chartered cyber professional, specialising in risk management and audit.

He regularly collaborates with the National Cyber Security Centre and supports a range of UK critical national infrastructure organisations to adopt robust cyber strategies. As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information Security, Stewart is a regular speaker at industry conferences, sharing best practice and insights.

Passionate about social mobility, Stewart is an ambassador for the Cyber First scheme, inspiring the next generation to pursue a careers in cyber security. In 2018 he was awarded the Chief Constables Commendation for Services to Cyber Security by Northumbria Police for his support establishing free cyber support for charities and small businesses. 

Originally from Scotland, Stewart moved to Durham in 2005 to study, and graduated in 2009 with a Masters in Astrophysics specialising in Computational Cosmology. During that time he fell in love with the North East and now lives in a former mining village with his wife Helen. He enjoys cycling, board games and working on the next LEGO project with his three sons.
