Feet on the street (Quarter 4)
Local customers and partner organisations are invited to join us at our ‘feet on the street’ estate walkabout events – an important opportunity to engage directly with communities, respond to local queries, and explore ways to work together to enhance neighbourhoods.
This quarter, our walkabouts will take place on Friday 6 February 2026 in Guisborough, Marske, Whale Hill, Skinningrove and Scalby, where participants will collaborate, sharing insights, local issues and discussing opportunities for improvement.

Customer tenancy sustainment support
This project aims to explore and better understand the tenancy sustainment support needs of our customers, so we can identify the challenges they face and help them to continue living in their Beyond Housing homes.
This initiative involves engaging directly with customers to learn more about the main reasons they may be considering a move, and identify potential support opportunities to retain them in their current homes. This feedback will help to ensure our approach is optimised for both customers and the business.
Housing Ombudsman STAIRS consultations
The Housing Ombudsman has recently launched a consultation on the Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs). They are seeking views about changes to the scheme, including the framework that sets out what the Housing Ombudsman does and how it does it, as well as updating it to include their new role in handling Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs) complaints.
The online consultation survey is open till Tuesday 17 March 2026 and can be accessed here.
Communal redecoration consultation – Friargate, Scarborough
Our painting team will be redecorating the internal communal space within Friargate Flats in Scarborough.
Before work begins, we’ll be consulting with residents on their preferred colour scheme. This will help our team to deliver a space that reflects customers’ expeectations and deliver on a space that everyone can enjoy.
Communal pathway consultation – Bell Close, Seamer
Following a request from local residents for a pathway to be installed across a communal grassed area to the rear of the community centre at Bell Close, we will be consulting with customers on the improvement proposals.
New customer engagement – Bridlington
On Tuesday 10 February at Bridlington Sports Centre, we will be hosting a ‘Meet Beyond Housing’ event for prospective new customers who currently live in ‘People For Places’ properties in the Bridlington area.
Residents can come along and have a chat with us about the proposed purchase of properties and the transfer of their tenancies to Beyond Housing. The event will also be a good opportunity for us to highlight information on the services we provide.
Wilton Way, Grangetown
We are working in partnership with Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council to gather feedback from our local customers and private residents. This will help us understand any anti-social behaviour issues they may be experiencing due to living close to a nearby communal alleyway.
Adaptation services information
To raise awareness of the support we offer with home adaptations for customers, we are currently updating our adaptation services booklet and guidance available on our website.
As part of this work, we will be consulting with customers to ensure the information is clear, useful and meets their needs.
Independent Living Forum (Quarter 4)
This month, we will be hosting our quarterly Independent Living Forum, in partnership with Reach & Respond.
Local customers will be invited to drop in for a cup of tea and chat with our friendly team, and provide feedback about services. There was also a housing officer present to support customers with any housing-related queries.

Community clean up event – Marton Court, Whitby
Following feedback, customers at Marton Court in Whitby will be invited to take part in the rejuvenation of the raised flower beds on Thursday 26 March.
We intend to weed and replant them, with the aim of lowering future maintenance without losing visual appeal. Additionally, our caretaker team will be onsite to carry out an estate clean up and will support customers with the removal of any large and unwanted items from their homes.
Community clean up event – Whale Hill, Grangetown
Through resident feedback, housing officer knowledge and our data on fly-tipping collections, Whale Hill was identified as an area that would benefit from a community clean up. Local residents will receive communications before the event outlining the information for the clean up.
