Employment success for Tess!
Tess signed up for employability support after migrating from the Philippines and relocating to Teesside. She was feeling lonely, isolated and low in self-confidence.
We started meeting weekly, getting to know each other and helping to boost Tess’s confidence, getting her out of her home and seeing what direction she would like to go in. Tess was interested in crafts, so we provided funding for her to take part in a Spring Wreath Making course, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
We then organised for Tess to take part in an Essential Skills course at the Tees Valley Women’s Centre, where she continued to develop, integrate within the community, and is now part of a close friendship group where they use WhatsApp to give each other support.
Tess is currently on an 8-week Teaching Assistant course to help her find work in a local school once she is qualified. We have also provided Tess with vouchers so she can purchase suitable clothing for any upcoming interviews to help get her off to a flying start.
Tess is an absolute pleasure to work with and is going from strength to strength. We will continue to support her on her journey.
