Mill Meadows Design Consultation

We have advised residents of Mill Meadows, Filey that our planning application for the next phase of the development remains under consideration.

Our proposals for the majority of the site have received positive feedback from the planning department. However, we are proposing some revisions in order to address concerns regarding site levels in some locations, which also result in a redistribution of the proposed green space provision. The intention is to ensure pockets of accessible areas for play and relaxation are better distributed throughout the development as a whole. The overall number of homes remains the same as the design consulted on last year and the proposed tenure remains for outright sale.

1. The Golden Square

The three storey P-types have been removed and replaced with two storey homes.  Please note that we have slightly revised the road layout, incorporating private parking, to the north edge of the area to facilitate this layout. The green space originally provided centrally within the Golden Square has been relocated to provide a more informal green space with structured landscaping to the boundaries of the adjacent properties to ensure adequate privacy is maintained.

2. The area adjacent to the eastern and south eastern boundary

Three bungalows remain in this area with two storey homes now relocated around the corner, utilising a narrow strip of green space on the south eastern site boundary. This breaks up the green space more within the development.

3. The area opposite the proposed shop

We have slightly repositioned the plots in this area to improve the rear garden spaces.  It is proposed that the small play area will be relocated to a more appropriate location within the green space. A smaller area of green space will remain allowing amenity and access.

Please note the remaining red outlined area is the temporary sales car park adjacent to the main entrance, which was always proposed to be removed. We will hold a further consultation event with you once the main contractor has been appointed to agree the proposals for green spaces, including a fitness trail, kick-about area, local equipped area for play (LEAPS) and local area for play (LAPS). We will be asking the main contractor to complete these works as far as practical during the earlier stages of the contract.

Once we have reviewed your comments we will submit our finalised proposals to planners. There will still be a further statutory consultation period to allow further comment as part of the planning process.
