We have secured national recognition for our £2.2 million improvement scheme at Hungate Court in Hunmanby.

The scheme has been named National Multi Measure Project of the Year at the 2025 National Energy Efficiency Awards, placing it ahead of 18 other shortlisted projects from across the country.

The award recognises organisations that successfully deliver large scale energy efficiency projects where more than one measure is installed. Eligible projects must have been completed between January 2024 and March 2025, demonstrate measurable energy savings, include qualified contractors throughout, and offer clear evidence of customer benefit and community impact. Judges considered the scale, scope and delivery of the work, and placed emphasis on projects that have integrated government funding schemes and showed strong project management capability.

Hungate Court met these criteria through the delivery of multiple improvements that have cut carbon emissions and reduced costs for residents. The scheme brought together solar panels, upgraded insulation, energy efficient windows and a shared ground source heat pump system for the sheltered housing block of 32 homes. Supported by £650,000 from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund and delivered in partnership with E.ON Green Funding Solutions, the work is expected to reduce annual emissions by about 81 tonnes and save residents more than £630 each year on their energy bills.

This national honour follows our earlier success at the Yorkshire Energy Efficiency Awards, where Hungate Court was named Large Scale Project of the Year and we secured the Housing Association of the Year title.

Richard Cooper, Director of Asset and Sustainability at Beyond Housing, said: “It is so rewarding to see our ambitious project at Hungate Court recognised at national level. This collaboration between Beyond Housing colleagues, together with E.ON and other highly valued suppliers and partners, underlines our shared dedication and commitment to building a more eco-friendly, energy efficient future for our customers and communities.”
