Men’s Pie Club break the crust at Westfield Farm
Friday 27 March 2026
Men’s Pie Club is expanding it’s reach into Dormanstown, Redcar, with new sessions launching at Westfield Farm as part of a partnership with Beyond Housing.
The initiative, known for tackling loneliness and social isolation among men, will begin at Westfield Farm on Friday 27 March 2026, running every two weeks from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
Men’s Pie Club creates relaxed, welcoming spaces where men can come together to make pies, share conversation and build friendships. Open to all, the sessions require no cooking experience and are designed to provide a simple but effective way for people to connect in an informal, supportive environment.
Participants work together to make a pie from scratch while chatting and getting to know one another. All equipment and ingredients are provided free of charge, and attendees can take their finished pie home or enjoy it during the session.
The social enterprise has supported thousands of men across the UK, helping to improve confidence, strengthen social networks and reduce feelings of isolation. Its approach focuses on shared activity and peer support, creating a space where conversations can happen naturally without pressure.
Westfield Farm, a community resource and training centre owned and operated by Beyond Housing, provides a space for local residents to access activities, training and support. By hosting Men’s Pie Club, the site will offer a regular opportunity for local men to come together and benefit from the initiative.
Donald Sanderson, Westfield Farm Co-ordinator at Beyond Housing, said:
“At Westfield Farm, my aim is to get local men together to make new friends, chat about anything that’s on their minds, and – best of all –make and enjoy a good pie.
We identified a need for something for the men of Redcar, and this club gives them a warm, welcoming space to come together.
It’s all about good company, good conversation, and creating a place where everyone feels welcome.”
