Westfield Farm has been revitalised and is ready to welcome the community

Our community resource and training centre at Westfield Farm in Redcar has recently beeng refreshed and is ready to warmly welcome new clients, customers, and volunteers in the months ahead.
Beyond Housing colleagues joined a team of enthusiastic apprentices and volunteers to apply some TLC to each of the individual areas, prompting a more effective re-structured approach to providing services and resources.
Maria Taylor, Apprentice & Volunteer Team Leader at Beyond Housing, said: “We are collaborating with our volunteers and apprentices as we begin this revitalising project. Being in the heart of Dormanstown, we want people in the community to see how they can use our facilities and IT suite, take up volunteering opportunities, attend our job club and enjoy spending time in our thriving garden and allotment area.
We are developing long-term plans for the farm garden to include a renewed focus on beds with flowers, herbs and produce for customers to purchase, with income being reinvested to increase sustainability. We are also aiming to turn an existing habitat garden into a wild meadow environment, attracting wildlife to support the local eco system.
It is not just for Beyond Housing customers. We want to make Westfield Farm a hub for the community and build upon the great volunteer base that we have here”.
About Westfield Farm Community Resource and Training Centre
Located at The Green in Dormanstown, Westfield Farm offers free use of computers in the centre’s IT suite Monday to Friday, via appointment, to look for jobs, training courses and to update CVs. Colleagues and volunteers are always on hand to help visitors use the computers and to run through the basics to get newcomers started.
The training room is also available to hire with refreshments, computers and drop-down screen available at an additional cost. Please email phoebe.grainger@beyondhousing.co.uk for more information.
